Job Title: CAD Drafter
Job Description
The CAD Drafter I is responsible for finalizing drawing packages and issuing drawing sets used in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of substation and transmission line facilities. This role involves interpreting design data, applying drafting standards, and utilizing CADD systems to produce high-quality, accurate drawings under close technical guidance from engineers, designers, or senior drafters.
Responsibilities
Develop CADD drawings using workstation-based CADD systems (35% of the time).
Create electronic overlay drawings by scanning hardcopy drawings and producing final vector drawings using raster images (10% of the time).
Operate peripheral equipment and software related to the CADD system, such as plotters, scanners, raster editors, and electronic storage systems (35% of the time).
Use standard office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, copiers, blueline machines, fax machines, and document management systems.
Maintain organized CADD file directories and other project-related documentation (5% of the time).
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting techniques.
Experience with civil and design CAD in a 2D environment.
Knowledge of transmission line disciplines.
Ability to interpret and apply drafting standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with substation, relay, and control, civil, or structural design.
Familiarity with various office software and standard office equipment.
Work Environment
The work is performed onsite *hybrid schedule" in an office environment located in Tucker, GA. The role involves using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems and various office software in a collaborative setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
