Cabinetmaker
2 Days Old
Job Description
We are seeking a senior-level cabinetmaker or journeyman cabinetmaker to join the artisan cabinet shop at OSM Construction, one of Montana's premier high-end residential builders. This role offers the opportunity to craft some of the most visible and high-touch elements in their projects, from grand entry doors to custom cabinetry, while working in a collaborative, detail-driven environment. You'll partner closely with their shop foreman, mentor less experienced craftsmen, and uphold their uncompromising “nothing leaves unless it's right” standard.
Key Responsibilities
Produce high-end custom cabinetry and millwork to exacting specifications
Interpret blueprints, perform takeoffs, and execute precise measurements and cuts
Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to supervise and mentor junior craftsmen
Maintain quality control on all shop projects, ensuring work meets OSM's standards before delivery
Operate and maintain woodworking tools and equipment with skill and safety
Use Cabinet Vision software to assist in planning and execution of builds
Contribute to a positive, low-drama, team-oriented shop culture
Hard Skills
3+ years (Cabinet Maker) or 5+ years (Journeyman) in high-end custom cabinetry or fine woodworking
Proficiency in Cabinet Vision (must-have)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong math and measurement skills for precise fabrication
Better-than-basic computer literacy for shop coordination and documentation
Experience mentoring or supervising other craftsmen (Journeyman level)
Soft Skills
Pride in workmanship, a “my name is on it” mentality
Patience and attention to detail; quality over quantity mindset
Collaborative personality; thrives in a team more than a production line
Adaptable problem-solver who maintains composure under pressure
Low-drama, respectful presence in a diverse, skilled team
