We’re looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their data analysis needs and translating these into interactive reports and dashboards. Additionally, you will work closely with the Commercial Technology team to maintain our BI and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive Power BI development, administration, and support experience, along with technical expertise in Snowflake, Oracle, Python, and Informatica. Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is seeking in its Business Intelligence Developer. Is this you? Responsibilities Power BI Development: Create and maintain high-quality data visualizations, work with Power BI components such as Data Pipelines, Dataflows, Datasets, Semantic Models, Power Automate, and others. Enhance data security using object, row, and column-level security. Support and Troubleshooting: Participate in on-call support, troubleshoot issues related to data pipelines, user access, and data quality. Provide user documentation and support self-service reporting. Data Access and Modeling: Collaborate with data warehouse and ETL developers, access data from Snowflake, Oracle, and other sources, and model data using DAX, Power Query, etc. Power BI Administration: Manage user access, create deployment scripts, and stay updated on BI trends. Implement new technologies to improve our BI infrastructure. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field. At least 5 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role. Proficiency in Power BI tools, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and visualizations. Skills in scripting languages such as SQL, Python, shell, and batch scripting. Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, and data warehousing concepts. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and knowledge of data privacy regulations. Power BI certification preferred; familiarity with other BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, Tableau) is a plus. Minimum 5 years’ experience with SQL, Power BI, and Excel; 3-5 years in Business Analysis. This position follows a schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) with flexibility for remote work.
