Position: Business Development (BD) Director
RSM is seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to drive growth in our Mid-Atlantic market by selling Audit, Tax, and Consulting services to new clients within the Technology, Media, & Telecommunications (TMT) and Industrial/Consumer Products (IP/CP) industry segments.
Position Summary
The Business Development Director will lead all aspects of the sales process, including prospect targeting, developing sales strategies, and managing pursuit teams. Responsibilities include building strong sales pipelines, preparing proposals, closing sales, and working closely with industry leaders and networking groups.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and qualifying new opportunities not currently served by the firm.
Executing the sales plan and coordinating internal resources.
Networking with industry contacts and professional groups.
Supporting cross-selling efforts and developing go-to-market strategies.
Building and maintaining sales pipelines and forecasts.
Preparing and delivering presentations and proposals.
Closing sales and finalizing agreements.
Leading cross-functional teams on market opportunities.
Leveraging industry and technical resources for new opportunities.
Collaborating with other RSM professionals to deliver comprehensive services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of successful experience selling professional services to middle-market corporations.
Experience working across various industries and orchestrating teams to craft solutions.
Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
Established network of Centers of Influence (COI) in banking, legal, and professional services.
Experience with CRM tools and social media for networking and sales tracking.
Strong negotiation, influence, and business acumen skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Experience with large regional or national professional service firms.
Active C-level network.
Community involvement in industry or civic groups.

Salary range: $100,000 - $300,000, with discretionary bonuses based on performance.
