Body Repair Technician (Specialty)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairs Dents, Scratches, and Hammer Marks on the bus body.
Sand surface to ensure smoothness
Paper, mask, and tape areas of repair to avoid contamination when needed.
Give feedback to responsible Cell Leaders when repeat issues arise.
Must have experience using Bondo to repair dents.
Must be knowledgeable of and able to use all body repair tools.
Must be able to work independently and be very detail oriented.
Attend daily safety department meetings
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Good hand eye coordination
Employee will sometimes be required to perform tasks offline to repair body damage.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D
Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and Blue Bird physical
Preferred experience with automotive sanding and prepping
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and vapors
Fast-paced environment with moving objects, Air hoses, and congested working areas
Able to push, pull, kneel, reach overhead, grasp, climb ladder and work around vapors
Must be willing to complete OSHA and Environmental Compliance Training
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
Must meet Established Quality and Production Standards
Practice good housekeeping
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Must meet established attendance policy and work overtime when required
Must perform other duties and tasks as assigned
