Bankruptcy Paralegal, Hybrid - Wilmington DE
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Bankruptcy Paralegal with experience handling various client representations. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with business Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings, client communication, and case management from intake through discharge. This role requires a thorough understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Delaware local rules and procedures, excellent client service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage bankruptcy cases from initial intake through case or matter resolution Conduct client interviews to gather financial documents and assess eligibility for filings Prepare and file petitions, schedules, statements, and other required bankruptcy documents using case preparation, software Prepare fee applications including review and preparation of invoices Draft, prepare, file and serve motions, objections, reaffirmation agreements, and other court pleadings Review creditor claims, income and expense disclosures, and repayment plans. Communicate with clients, creditors, counsel, court personnel, and trustees to coordinate filings, hearings and other matters as necessary Monitor case deadlines, court notices, and correspondence Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files Assist with post-filing activities, including plan modifications, discharge preparation, and case closure Qualifications: Associate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent education/experience required Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on debtor-side bankruptcy matters Proficiency with bankruptcy preparation software and PACER/ECF filing systems Strong knowledge of Federal District and Bankruptcy Court local and federal rules and procedures Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision High level of professionalism and confidentiality Preferred Skills: Experience with legal document management and billing software, (ie. iManage and Aderant) Familiarity with legal billing and time tracking Why Join Us?
