General Summary: Under general direction of the Deputy Director, IT Support Services, this position will set up, operate, maintain, and repair sound and video equipment for use in live events, such as meetings, webinars, and distance learning. They may also assist in the production of programs, training events, videos used externally ensuring high-quality AV experiences for both in-house teams and remote participants.
Essential Functions: •Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment including projectors, microphones, video cameras, sound speakers, and video conferencing systems. •Troubleshoot AV issues promptly to minimize downtime during events and meetings. •Conduct regular system tests and maintenance to ensure optimal performance. •Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to improve AV infrastructure and capabilities. •Provide training and support to staff on using AV technology effectively. •Manage inventory of AV equipment and supplies, including procurement and vendor relations. •Stay current with the latest AV technologies and best practices. •Knowledge of Mac devices a plus.
Special / Additional Qualifications (Over Role/ Category Level) Education & Experience: •Bachelor's degree in information technology, Audiovisual Communications, or related field. •2+ years of experience in AV technology or a similar role. •Strong understanding of AV systems, networking, and troubleshooting techniques. •Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. •Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. •Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders. •Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and collaboration tools. •Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events
Specific Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills: •Experience with digital signage and integrated AV control systems. •Certifications in AV technology (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) or related IT fields
Physical Demands/Work Environment: •Work will be performed in a standard office environment and/or via remote office in a Hybrid situation. •Could be subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
