Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a consultant to our direct client, an autonomous vehicle company in the Pittsburgh area. Title: Automotive Mechanic (Engineering Tech II) Location: Mount Pleasant, PA 15666 Pay Range: $35/hr - $38/hr (W-2) Schedule: Onsite 9AM-5PM, 40 hours per week Assignment Length: 1 year contract (but likely ongoing) Job description: Our client, an autonomous vehicle (AV) company, is seeking a skilled mechanic to join its team that is driven to develop and deploy advanced AI products that redefine industry standards, making processes safer, faster, and more efficient. We are seeking passionate individuals that thrive in fast-paced tech environments and are eager to contribute to transformative AI solutions. This is a role for a mechanic with a mechanical aptitude, who has been turning wrenches, taking things apart & putting things together. For example, an OEM Mechanic (someone at a car dealership) would work well in this role. As an Engineering Tech, you will: * Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies on a workbench while following Work Instructions * Disassemble class 8 trucks to prepare for modifications. * Perform vehicle modifications including drilling holes and cutting where needed utilizing alignment jigs. * Mount sensor and compute assemblies onto the vehicle while following Work Instructions. This includes fixtures inside the vehicle and on to the outside of the vehicle. Some work is performed from an elevated work platform. * Route and secure harnesses in the vehicle utilizing cable ties and other mechanisms. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. Additional: - Manufacturing of complex automotive harnesses for power and communication buses by utilizing harness drawings and schematics. - Implement best practices in keeping a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. - Low-voltage electrical wiring for automotive, trucking, or off-road vehicles. - Ability to work independently and turn high-level designs into functional systems. - Ability to prototype solutions quickly and efficiently. - Troubleshooting, supporting root cause analysis, and rolling out corrective actions. - Documentation of processes, procedures, and results. - Participate in validation and testing, including development of required resources and assets. - Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, Logistics, and other relevant departments.
