Job Summary The Assistant General Manager plays a vital and supporting role in creating an environment where the values, culture, and operating standards of The Flame Broiler, Inc. can thrive. Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager effectively communicates the vision of The Flame Broiler, Inc. brand and its systems, through effective management and supervision of operational procedures. They uphold the brand at the forefront of all operations and management decisions, personifying the values, culture, and heart of Flame Broiler. The character, competence, and chemistry of the Assistant General Manager are aligned with the company’s purpose, values, and guiding principles, understanding that these are at the core of every decision and leadership action.
Key Responsibilities Assist in achieving sales and revenue goals and operate shifts to meet targets.
Report store revenue to supervisors and support teams during assigned shifts.
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to perform and communicate the Flame Broiler Shift Management 9 Touch Point Module.
Ensure the restaurant meets standards across all areas of the 4 Pillars of Success evaluation; assist with inventory management, including monthly counts.
Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Maintain safety and security of the restaurant during shifts.
Report equipment repairs, damages, and needs for replacements to management or support teams.
Achieve certification and demonstrate ability to perform all restaurant positions (cashier, prep, cook).
Implement and follow up on sales initiatives and promotions during shifts, reporting on their success.
Maintain profitability by managing operations efficiently, controlling waste and expenses, and managing labor.
Identify operational issues and resolve them promptly.
Communicate company policies and standards to team members.
Report shift updates, issues, and successes to incoming managers.
Conduct shift handovers effectively to General Manager or Shift Lead.
Desired Competencies Provide shift leadership, assign tasks, and monitor team performance.
Evaluate and give feedback on team members’ performance.
Complete the company’s Train-The-Trainer certification.
Train and certify new and promoted team members.
Follow up with trainees and evaluate their progress.
Ensure team members understand and adhere to company standards and policies.
Enforce standards and policies through effective leadership.
Recommend team members for promotion based on performance.
Coach team members for performance improvement.
Resolve conflicts professionally and patiently.
Handle guest complaints during shifts.
Document employee attendance and punctuality.
Ensure adherence to cash handling and safety procedures.
Administer progressive discipline policies under supervision.
