ABOUT THIS ROLE The Global Insights & Data Science (GIDS) team is looking for an Associate Director, Analytics to join a team of Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers and Economists who analyze big data, provide analytics and insights, as well as build models and algorithms that drive marketing, content and product strategy for Audible. You will be a highly visible leader that will own the communication, coordination, and execution of multiple concurrent programs, partnering with stakeholders across GIDS, marketing, product, content, strategy and finance
ABOUT YOU You are a doer, someone that can code at a very good level in SQL and Python, and deliver products or prototypes end-to-end (from conception, to design, to specification, to code, to test, to measurement, to presentation). You possess an in-depth knowledge of relevant data sources, business intelligence technologies, data science and analytical tools: you know what’s possible, in which direction to steer, and how to move fast with solutions, adjustments and recommendations. You connect the dots and understand system inter-dependencies and limitations to build efficient solutions. You work fast, deliver reliably against your commitments, and have a strong handle on processes that enable your success. You have a business acumen that helps you speak fluently in your business partners’ language, and helps them achieve or surpass their goals. You are able to break down complexity and find innovative solutions to cross-functional problems.
As an Associate Director, Analytics, you will… - Lead strategic analytics and science solutions - Scale operations by defining and overseeing processes aligned with business needs - Solve complex problems spanning multiple systems and teams - Develop testable structures and experimental designs for hypothesis testing - Lead the development of analytics, BI, and data science deliverables - Communicate compelling insights to shape strategy and promote adoption of data science tools - Serve as a subject matter expert in analytics - Stay updated on economic and industry trends relevant to the business - Possess in-depth knowledge of data sources, BI technologies, and analytical tools - Build a network of subject matter experts for insights and information - Explain assumptions and methodologies to colleagues in other departments - Identify data-driven strategic opportunities for the Executive Leadership team - Conduct strategic, operational, economic, and financial analysis for decision-making - Drive discussion and insights with tech and non-tech executives - Deliver technical solutions that guide the strategic direction of the business - Design and develop KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards for tracking performance - Collaborate with technical functions and provide strategic and technical advice to senior leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of relevant experience in the areas of Strategic Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or Consulting - Experience spearheading or supporting business initiatives through data-driven decision frameworks, in particular through the conception and execution of measurement frameworks, decision making systems, simulation and scenario tools, and data science models - Fluency with SQL - Experience in developing analyses and/or tools with programming languages (Python, R) - Experience in developing dashboards and scorecards leveraging tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Shiny, etc. - Demonstrated high achievement in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced degree such as MS, MBA, or PhD in relevant field - Knowledge of causal inference - Prior work experience in customer care analytics - Experience in a similar business environment (entertainment industry, subscriptions businesses, digital commerce)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
