Position Description : The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University has launched a new Mechanical Engineering program, which incorporates Industry 4.0 tools and technologies throughout the curriculum to prepare students to design and develop mechanical and thermal systems that are intelligent, interconnected, and integrated with the virtual world and emerging digital infrastructures.
The program seeks to fill a non-tenure line Assistant Professor of Instruction position, to begin Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to exhibit a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level, participate in curriculum and program development, and perform university and professional service. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with Industry 4.0 tools and technologies.
Positions are subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, or a very closely related discipline.
Strong academic background in dynamics, control systems and robotics.
Record of teaching experience as instructor of record in undergraduate courses taught at an academic institution of higher education in the US.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise with Industry 4.0 tools and technologies.
Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience.
Experience mentoring undergraduate students in academic environments.
Knowledge about ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables.
