POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Landscape Specialist/Spray Tech to assist the Landscape Specialist/Spray Tech in the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding the intercollegiate athletic facilities on the University of Florida campus. This includes planting shrubbery, trees, flowers, and sod according to an ornamental landscape design; utilizing various tools and equipment to maintain the grounds; maintaining the irrigation system; and applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
This position requires the incumbent to: be a detail-oriented individual with effective communication skills; be able to work independently and as part of a cohesive team; to be able to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures and backgrounds; and to be able to work a non-standard work week, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED *
One year of landscape or grounds management experience*
Experience with landscape design, irrigation systems, applicator equipment/processes, and identification/prevention of diseases and insects
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture
Florida Restricted Use Pesticide Applicators License
