Westwind A&P certified Aircraft Maintenance Technicians must deliver safe, dependable, and high-quality service to every aircraft they encounter. These expectations include organizing his/her work plan efficiently and resourcefully and performing all aircraft maintenance and repairs within the estimated time per the FAA, Westwind, and customer standards. Westwind mechanic duties consist in large part of preventive maintenance care to repairs. Mechanic’s perform routine inspections, repairs, scheduled maintenance, and post-run tests. A Westwind mechanic must know and follow all regulations set by the FAA.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Maintain, Inspect, repair, and test aircraft * Maintain work environment to ensure safe and clean aircraft hangar * Ensure safe and legal practices in accordance with FAA and Westwind policy and regulations * Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals. * Other related duties as assigned
*Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)*
Westwind A&P mechanics will need strong mechanical ability and skills. Will be required to solve mechanical problems quickly and must have the physical ability to move about when working on airplanes. An aptitude for working with complex equipment and understanding technology is necessary.
Certificates and Experiences that we are looking for: * General Aviation Maintenance Experience * Avionics Experience * IA Certification * Supervisory Experience * Sheet Metal / Composite Material Experience
The FAA requires mechanics working on airplanes to be certified. Requirements to be a certified mechanic through the FAA for a U.S. citizen include: * Be 18 years old or older * Be fluent in English * Possess an Airframe & Powerplant Certification * Meet experience requirements (18 months on airframes or power plants, or 30 months of combined experience) or graduate from an FAA-approved school * Pass written, oral and practical tests
