We believe every animal deserves a second chance, and our dedicated team works daily to make that happen.Position Overview:We are seeking a hands-on, compassionate, and highly organized Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our animal shelter. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care and shelter management and be skilled at coordinating people, resources, and priorities in a dynamic and emotionally charged environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations including animal intake, feeding, cleaning, enrichment, and population managementEnsure all animals are cared for humanely and according to shelter protocolsSupervise, train, and schedule animal care staff and volunteersCoordinate with veterinary staff to ensure proper care and treatment of shelter animalsMaintain inventory and order necessary supplies, medications, and equipmentEnsure shelter cleanliness and safety standards are metMaintain records and reports using shelter management softwareEnforce biosecurity protocols and provide staff safety trainingPromote a positive, team-focused work environmentQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in animal science, veterinary tech, or related field preferred24 years of animal care experience (shelter, clinic, rescue), with at least 12 years in a leadership roleWorking knowledge of animal handling, disease control, and shelter regulationsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsProficient in shelter software (PetPoint, Shelterluv, Chameleon, etc.) and Microsoft OfficePhysical Requirements:Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet for extended periodsComfortable in environments with loud noise, strong odors, and emotional situationsWilling to work weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as neededReports To: Shelter Board of DirectorsWorking Conditions: Indoor/outdoor environment; frequent contact with animals of various temperamentsWhy Join Us?Youll play a key role in improving the lives of animals in our community and be part of a team passionate about making a difference.
