Aircraft Interior Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Interior Technicians in East Alton, Illinois to support the installation, repair, and refurbishment of luxury aircraft interiors. In this role, you’ll work on high-end corporate jets, applying your skills in mechanical, electrical, and soft goods systems. If you have hands-on experience with aircraft interiors or luxury RV/yacht finishes and enjoy working in a fast-paced aviation environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, remove, and repair aircraft interior components, including panels, cabinets, soundproofing, insulation, and flooring
Perform minor modifications and basic electrical system installation
Complete work orders, daily turnover sheets, and weight and balance data sheets
Assist with training junior installers and ensuring workflow efficiency
Maintain shop tools, equipment, and cleanliness of work areas
Work independently with minimal supervision on assigned projects
Follow FAA guidelines and company safety procedures
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and documentation
Communicate clearly with leadership, customers, and team members
Participate in major interior modification projects as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of experience working on aircraft interiors
Experience in luxury RV, yacht, or custom vehicle interiors considered a strong plus
Proficient with basic mechanical hand tools and powered equipment
Understanding of FAA, OSHA, and hazmat regulations
Detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of producing high-quality craftsmanship
Must be self-motivated and able to adapt in a dynamic environment
Ability to work overtime and weekends based on project demands
Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and varied aircraft positions
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Routine bending, kneeling, squatting, and standing for extended periods
Repetitive hand and arm movements required for tool operation and installation tasks
Must be able to work from ladders and in tight interior spaces
Work Environment:
Most work performed in a heated hangar or interior shop
Occasional outdoor work on the aircraft ramp
Use of personal and powered hand tools, glue guns, benders, and spray equipment required
Operation of tugs, power carts, and other shop machinery
