Description: The Aftermarket Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability within the service, parts, and rental departments by leading and developing the Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSRs). This role focuses on expanding service penetration, increasing parts and attachment sales, and enhancing customer relationships through proactive aftermarket support. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of equipment service and parts operations, and a results-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities: Directly oversee and coach inside and outside PSSRs, ensuring they meet or exceed sales and customer service targets. Establish performance metrics and provide regular feedback, training, and development opportunities. Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, share best practices, and drive accountability. Develop and execute strategic plans to increase aftermarket sales, including parts, service, maintenance contracts, and attachments. Identify and secure new business opportunities, including service contracts, preventative maintenance programs, and extended warranties. Drive growth by cultivating strategic partnerships with national accounts, leveraging these relationships to enhance market reach and maximize revenue potential. Collaborate with branch managers, VP of Parts, and service teams to align goals and strategies for aftermarket growth. Strengthen relationships with key Owners Club customers by ensuring a proactive and consultative approach to their aftermarket needs. Monitor customer satisfaction and address service or parts-related issues promptly. Work closely with PSSRs to ensure customers receive timely follow-ups, competitive pricing, and high-quality service. Track and analyze sales performance, customer retention, and market trends to adjust strategies as needed. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of aftermarket sales, customer engagement activities, and market opportunities. Implement best practices for efficient quoting, sales tracking, and customer follow-up processes. Partner with the sales department leadership to align strategies and maximize opportunities across both new equipment and aftermarket sales. Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns promoting service agreements, parts promotions, and attachment sales. Provide input on pricing strategies and competitive positioning in the aftermarket space.
Requirements: Qualifications & Skills: 5+ years of experience in equipment service, parts sales, or aftermarket management, preferably in the heavy equipment or construction industries. Proven leadership experience with a track record of driving sales growth and team performance. Strong understanding of service and parts operations, including PSSR functions and customer engagement strategies. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing partnerships with national accounts and sales leadership teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer needs to drive strategic decisions. Proficiency in CRM and business management software.
